Aims and Values

Our Aim

At Zeytince, we work to support sustainability transitions by fostering ecological literacy, strengthening local knowledge and creating opportunities for communities to learn, collaborate and take action together.

We believe that today’s ecological challenges are not only environmental, but also social, cultural and economic. Addressing them requires more than technological solutions—it calls for changes in the way people live, produce, consume and relate to one another and to nature.

Through participatory learning, co-creation and place-based approaches, we strive to translate sustainability into everyday practice. By connecting scientific knowledge with local experience, we empower individuals and communities to build more resilient, inclusive and regenerative futures.

Our Values

Living in Harmony with Nature
We recognise the interdependence between people and nature and promote approaches that respect ecological systems, biodiversity and the limits of our planet.

Participation and Co-creation
We believe that lasting solutions emerge when diverse perspectives come together. Collaboration, dialogue and shared learning are at the heart of everything we do.

Place-based Thinking
We value the knowledge, culture and identity of places. Our work is rooted in local landscapes, communities and traditions, recognising that sustainability grows from local contexts.

Bridging Knowledge and Practice
We connect research with real-life experience, translating knowledge into practical actions that communities can adopt and adapt.

Partnership and Solidarity
We build long-term collaborations with citizens, local producers, municipalities, universities, civil society organisations and other partners who share our commitment to sustainable futures.

Learning and Innovation
We embrace curiosity, experimentation and continuous learning. Through participatory methodologies, Living Labs and collaborative innovation, we develop new ways of supporting ecological and social transformation.
